Tom works at Nike as a Director of AI/ML Engineering. He leads engineering teams that enable the potential of data and AI by providing standard tooling, best practices, and blueprints for building, operating, and reusing ML models and features at scale. Has been working in the IT technology sector for almost twenty years. Before Nike, he spent four years at Nordea, Scandinavia's most important financial institution where he managed engineering teams that built on-prem Data Lake and dozens of supporting services and products. He also worked for almost nine years for Acxiom, contributing to the development of multiple personalized marketing and customer insight solutions. Last but not least, he has nearly ten years of experience as a software and data engineer. He has a master's in Computer Science and Ph.D. in Economics. After hours he enjoys reading sci-fi novels, basketball, long-distance running, and gravel biking.
